TG4's renowned creative work in the area of channel idents, titles and stings has received further recognition by taking the prize in this category of content at the Celtic Media Festival 2010 in Newry, Co Down.
The Celtic Media Festival is one of the most prestigious and long established festivals in these islands and is held each year. It presents awards in a range of programme categories and creative output.
A range of the channel's in-house creative and branding work compiled under TG4 Creative Director Seán Cathal Ó Coileáin had been shortlisted for this year's competition after a national pre-selection phase in Ireland. TG4 has seven projects shortlisted in the various categories in this year's Festival, held in Newry.
TG4 Director-General, Pól Ó Gallchóir, congratulated all those involved in the latest recognition for TG4 creative projects, both TG4's own team and Dublin company Super 68. "This prestigious Celtic prize is recognition by our peers in the creative industry that TG4 has a particular talent for devising, producing and airing its unique identity to the highest standards and in a very innovative way" he said. "Stings and idents are a key element in giving a television channel its own personality and distinctiveness and we are fortunate to have such talent available to us for this key task."
