TG4's brand new show searching for Ireland's most entertaining family!
From The Clancy Brothers to Crystal Swing, the Irish family has entertained us throughout the decades. Talented Irish families have excelled in their particular genres, whether it's the pop music of The Corrs or the sean-nós dancing of The Cunninghams.
Now it's time to find a brand new family that will entertain the nation.
Over 13 episodes, TG4's new show FEIS & BLOOD, will set out to find a new super-star family. The production company Adare Productions auditioned 300 families and 80 of those will take part in this series.
Hosted by Síle Seoige, the show will see families from all over Ireland performing on stage. Whether they're singing, dancing or playing music, each family will be facing the 3 judges in the quest to become TG4's most talented family in Ireland.
The judges keeping an eye on the proceedings are Aonghus McAnally, Sibéal Davitt and Pádraig O Sé.
Aonghus McAnally has over 40 years experience as a performer, singer, musician, comedian and television and radio host. He has performed all over the world in concerts from America to China, and throughout Europe. Aonghus knows all about talented families. He is the son of the BAFTA award winning actor Ray McAnally( My Left Foot, The Mission, We're No Angels) and actress Ronnie Masterson (Angela's Ashes). Aonghus is married to actress Billie Morton and met her on the stage of the Abbey Theatre. His son Aonghus Óg McAnally is also an actor and winner of both best actor in the 2010 Fringe and Best production in the 2010 Fringe for his show Fight Night.
Sibéal Davitt comes from a musical background and has been sean-nós dancing and playing traditional Irish music from an early age and was the winner of the All-Ireland Glas Vegas talent competition on TG4 in 2009. She is a popular performer and teacher of sean-nós dancing at venues and festivals throughout Ireland and has toured extensively abroad.
Pádraig O Sé is an acclaimed accordion player from Kerry and has played the length and breadth of the country. He is also a popular broadcaster on Raidió na Gaeltachta. Pádraig enjoys nothing more than having a session at home with his own musically talented family, and understands the bond that can develop within families through music song and dance.
All 3 judges are experts in the field of entertainment, but will they see eye to eye with such a variety of styles and talents on display?
Which family has the talent gene? Who can unleash the Feis in their Blood? Feis & Blood, coming to you on TG4 on Sunday 30th January 7.15pm.
