Peter Quinn (Chairman)
Fermanagh-based businessman and Business Consultant. Director of the Quinn Group. Former President GAA; former member Northern Ireland Parades Commission. Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Former Chairman Irish language Broadcast Fund (ILBF) and former Board Member of Northern Ireland Screen.
Pól Ó Gallchóir (Director General)
He joined RTÉ as an Journalist in 1980 based in Dublin. He was appointed Head of Raidió na Gaeltachta in 1994 and was appointed Head of TG4 in April 2000. Originally from the Gaoth Dobhair Gaeltacht in Co. Donegal, he has lived in Galway since 1994.
Regina Uí Chollatáin
Native of Letterkenny. Lecturer in modern Irish in UCD, regular contributor and commentator in Irish language media.
Joe Connolly
Galway-based businessman. Former GAA hurling star and All-Ireland winning Galway captain (1980). Chairman of the GAA Alcohol and Substance Abuse Task Force.
Pádraig Mac Donncha
From Ráth Cairn Gaeltacht i Co Meath. Community development and Irish language activist. Former Chair of Radio na Gaeltachta Advisory Council.
Bríd Ní Neachtain
Actress. Connemara born but now Dublin-based. Credits include Dancing at Lughnasa, Cré na Cille.
Eilís Ní Chonnaola
Connemara based Irish teacher. Community Activist.
Fergal Ó Sé
National School Teacher based in his native west Kerry Gaeltacht. Well known in GAA circles. Member of famous footballing family.
Méabh Mhic Gairbheith
South Donegal based teacher. Specialist in Adult Education. Community development worker.
Méadhbh Nic an Airchinnigh
From Cork originally, now a Ph.D candidate in the School of Irish, National University of Ireland, Galway. She has spent time teaching Irish in the United States as part of a Fulbright scholarship. Interests include sport and music.
Concubhar Ó Liatháin
From the Muskerry Gaeltacht in north-west Cork. Selected by the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Communications and appointed by the Minister in October 2010.
Rónán Ó Coisdealbha
Eagraí Spóirt TG4. Elected as representative by TG4 Staff as provided for in the Broadcasting Act 2009 and appointed to the Board by the Minister.
TG4 Audience Council
The functions and duties of the TG4 Audience Council are set out in Section 96 of the Broadcasting Act 2009.
The Council’s main function is to represent to the board the views and interests of the general public with regard to public service broadcasting. The Act directs the Council to make an annual report to the Minister for Communications, to the board and to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
The inaugural TG4 Audience Council was appointed in February 2010 and has the following membership:
