Susan Ní Bheaglaoich's Meal

Homemade Burger with potatoes and beans

Ingredients:

  • Minced meat 
  • 1 onion
  • Garlic clove
  • Mixed herbs
  • 1 egg
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Method:

  1. Wash the potatoes and place in a pot of boiling water.
  2. Put a lid on it and boil the potatoes for 30 minutes.
  3. Dice the onion and the garlic finely.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the minced meat, onion and garlic, mixed herbs, salt and pepper with the beaten egg, with a spoon or your hands.
  5. Use the flour to shape the burgers.
  6. Heat some oil in a pan.
  7. Place the burgers in the pan, and cook on a high heat for 5 minutes.
  8. Turn down the heat and cook on either side, until cooked through.
  9. Put the beans in a saucepan and heat for 7-10 minutes.
  10. Serve the burger on a plate with the potatoes and beans.

Dessert

Apple, Blackberry and Strawberry Crumble with Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • Flour
  • Margarine
  • Sugar
  • Apples
  • Blackberries
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Ice cream

Method:

  1. With your fingers, rub the margarine into the flour.
  2. Add some sugar to it.
  3. Cut the fruit into smaller pieces.
  4. Put the fruit into a large dish.
  5. Cover the fruit with the crumble.
  6. Place in the oven at 180C for 40-45 minutes.
  7. Serve with a little ice cream.
