Seán Keane

This programme looks at the life and career of the fiddle player Sean Keane. He spent 50 years travelling the world with The Chieftains and has 6 Grammy awards to his name. We take a look at his life and music and find out why he is known as the Heaney of the Irish fiddle tradition with guests such as Paddy Glackin, Liam O’Connor, Seán Óg Potts & Sean McKeon.

Mary Bergin

This programme looks at the life and career of the whistle player Mary Bergin. Whistle player Mary Bergin has been the foremost whistle player in the country since her debut album Feadóga Stáin hit the shelves in the late 1970’s.

Jackie Daly

This programme looks at the life and career of the accordion player Jackie Daly. Jackie has played with some of the major bands in Irish Traditional music including De Danann, Buttons & Bows, Kevin Burke, Patrick Street & Delores Keane. Guests include Joe Burke, Bryan O’Leary, Conal Ó Gráda, Colm Murphy, Matt Cranitch & Edel Fox.

Kevin Henry

This programme looks at the life and career of the 87 year old flute player Kevin Henry. Kevin is the godfather of Irish music in Chicago and has played with some legends of a bygone era such as Paddy Killoran, Lad O’Beirne & Joe Cooley. He also gave a musical ‘start’ to the likes of Michael Flatley & Liz Carroll. Guests include Michael Flatley, Liz Carroll, Sean Gavin, Néillidh Mulligan & Tony McMahon.

Ann Mulqueen

This programme looks at the life and career of singer Ann Mulqueen. Ann was a massive star in the ballad boom of the 1960’s. She sang with the Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers & Nicolas Tóibín to name but a few. When she moved to the An Rinn Gaeltacht in Co. Waterford she raised a famous family of Sean-nós singers and learnt the art herself. Guests include Sorcha & Odí Ní Cheilleachar, Séamus Mac Craith, Ciarán Ó Gealbháin & Sadie Breathnach.

Antóin Mac Gabhann

This programme looks at the life and career of fiddle player Antóin Mac Gabhann. Antóin is a fiddle player & fiddle teacher who lives in Ashbourne Co. Meath. He had an almighty influence on traditional music in the county since he moved there in the early 1970’s. We take a look at his life and music with guests such as The Mac Gabhann family, MacDara & Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh & Caitlín Nic Gabhann.
