Táithí gan Teorainn

Irish chefs, farmers, nurses and fashionistas are forced out of their comfort zone in a brand new series as they try out their jobs in foreign climes. Taithí Gan Teorainn follows eight young Irish people to the most far-flung corners of the earth as they walk a mile in the shoes of their foreign counterparts, working the same exhausting hours and enduring the same daily physical and mental toil. Each episode sees two people travel to India, Cambodia, Kenya and Kyrgyzstan where workplaces are often hazardous and some operate without the basics of running water or electricity.

This Week
Farmers Rónán Ó Siochrú and Ann Martin from Kerry travel to Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia to live and work as nomadic shepherds and farmers. On arrival in Kyrgyzstan, the pair are faced with working on farms without running water or electricity and have to build and live in their own yurt. Rónán, who had never been on horseback, is put straight to work, riding the hills and rounding up horses and cattle. While Ann, an experienced rider, is confined to the homestead, cooking and looking after the children. Rónán and Ann are tasked with selling sheep in the busiest market in the country in Kochkor.
