Speaking at the launch of the 2015 TG4 Ladies Gaelic Football Championship, TG4 Ardstiúrthóir, Pól Ó Gallchóir expressed his delight at a new three year deal that extends the TG4 sponsorship and broadcast rights agreements with Ladies Gaelic Football Assocation (LGFA) up to the end of the 2018 season. During this period, TG4 will provide live coverage and world-wide webcast of up to 60 live Championship games as well as a number of matches in other Ladies Gaelic Football competitions.
During the 2015 Championships TG4 will broadcast a total of 17 live games, beginning on Saturday July 25th and culminating with the All-Ireland Finals on Sunday 27thth September with the Junior, Intermediate and Senior matches from Croke Park
Mr Ó Gallchóir said that Ladies Gaelic Football is one of Ireland’s great indigenous sports with hundreds of thousands of players in this country and abroad. He also was pleased to confirm that TG4’s coverage it attracts a significant TV audience in Ireland and globally on the TG4 Player www.tg4.tv
Marie Hickey, Uachtarán LGFA added “TG4 has become synonymous with Ladies Gaelic football and we are delighted that we have agreed an extension of the long-standing sponsorship and TV rights arrangements until 2018. She also cited the large overseas participation and interest in the sport and TG4’s ability to provide coverage to those located outside Ireland.
