(1960, Comedy) Starring Clark Gable, Sophia Loren and Vittorio De Sica. Directed by Melville Shaveslon. Mike Hamilton, a Philadelphia lawyer, comes to Naples to settle the estate of his long estranged “black sheep” brother. Once there, he discovers that the deceased has left an eight-year old little boy named Nando, who is being raised by Michael’s sister-in-law Lucia Curcio. Mike immediately disapproves of Nando’s Italian-style education. To make matters worse, Lucia happens to be … a sexy nightclub dancer. This is too much for a puritan like Mike.
14.50 Laochra Gael
This episode of Laochra Gael is shown as a tribute to Tony Keady who passed away in August of this year. One of the most famous hurlers of his generation, Tony played centre half back for Galway between 1985 and 1991, winning All-Ireland titles in 1987 and in 1988, when he also won the hurler of the year award. He will also always be remembered for the events of 1989 when he was suspended for a year having played illegally in America. Joe Mac Donncha, Michael Bond and Cyril Farrell contributed to the programme which was first shown in 2007.

In essence, each episode is a subjective social documentary which chronicles a guest presenter as they sift through the Irish newspapers, radio and television archive from the day they were born. We then follow that person as they embark on a personal journey investigating further three of the stories that catch their eye from the date of their birth. Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh uncovers the story of forgotten hero James Fitzmaurice.
