\nCr\u00e1 series one<\/a>
\n 
\nFilming commenced this week in Gaoth Dobhair, County Donegal on series two of the Irish language crime drama Cr\u00e1. <\/p>\n

The hugely successful first series was produced by F\u00edb\u00edn Media and Zoogon Ltd for TG4 and BBC Gaeilge. <\/p>\n

Sold to 68 countries and streaming under the international title Boglands, Cr\u00e1 has proven popular with audiences around the world. <\/p>\n

Series one concluded with Garda Conall \u00d3 S\u00failleabh\u00e1in (D\u00f3nall \u00d3 H\u00e9ala\u00ed) discovering the truth about what happened to his mother Sabine whose body was found mysteriously buried in a bog. <\/p>\n

In series two, the personal and professional lives of law enforcers who are operating in a lawless borderland are explored as Conall, now a trainee detective, must confront his past to secure his future. <\/p>\n

Returning for this six-part series are D\u00f3nall \u00d3 H\u00e9ala\u00ed (Hidden Assets, Foscadh), Alex Murphy (The Young Offenders) as Barry, Hannah Brady (Soulm8te) as Ciara-Kate, and Colm Mac Giolla Easbuic (Ros na R\u00fan) as Iarla. <\/p>\n

New names joining the cast include Siobh\u00e1n O\u2019Kelly (Mix Tape), Lochlann \u00d3 Mear\u00e1in (Mr Loverman, The Head), Art Parkinson (Aontas, Say Nothing), Aoife Nic Ardghail (Casual) and Tony Devlin (Say Nothing). Further cast details for series two will be released in due course.<\/p>\n

Series two is produced by F\u00edb\u00edn Media and F\u00edb\u00edn Films NI for TG4 and BBC Gaeilge with support from Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen\u2019s Irish Language Broadcast Fund, Coimisi\u00fan na Me\u00e1n and distributors About Premium Content (APC). <\/p>\n

The producers are Ciar\u00e1n Charles and Darach \u00d3 Tuairisg for F\u00edb\u00edn Media and M\u00e9abh Nic Alastair for F\u00edb\u00edn Films NI. <\/p>\n

Writers on the new series are Richie Conroy (Cr\u00e1 series one, Leonard and Hungry Paul), Sarah Gordon and Damian McCann (Aontas) and Noel McCann (Blue Lights) and Philip Doherty (Cr\u00e1 series one Director), with new cast member Aoife Nic Ardghail also joining the writing team.<\/p>\n
