TG4 to Broadcast 6 Days of Live Racing from the Listowel Harvest Festival

TG4 returns once again to Listowel this September to bring viewers six days of top-class live coverage from the famous Listowel Harvest Festival.
 
The partnership between TG4 and the festival goes back two decades, with the first broadcast from Listowel in 2004. This year marks the 21st anniversary of Rásaí Lios Tuathail on TG4, and the team will be live from the Kingdom from Monday 22 September through to Saturday 27 September. 2024 also sees the 167th running of this historic festival – a highlight of the Irish racing calendar.
 

Last year’s meeting attracted bumper crowds from near and far and produced memorable racing moments. The feature contest of the week, the Guinness Kerry National, was won in style by Flooring Porter, trained by Gavin Cromwell and ridden by Keith Donoghue.
 

The 2024 programme gets underway with two days of Flat racing on Monday and Tuesday, before the National Hunt action takes centre stage from Wednesday onwards. Among the week’s highlights will be the ever-popular Guinness Kerry National on Wednesday and the iconic Listowel ‘Ladies Day’ on Friday. Broadcaster Louise Duffy and designer Shauna Courtney will be on hand to judge the Best Dressed Lady competition, always one of the festival’s most anticipated occasions.
 

Viewers can also look forward to exclusive features throughout the week, with behind-the-scenes visits to leading studs and training yards, including local Limerick trainer Eoin McCarthy, who tasted success live on TG4 last year with Kingdom Calling winning on the Saturday, and Pat O’Donnell, who enjoyed a major victory at the prestigious Ebor Festival in York last year with Extensio.
 

Coverage will once again be fronted by Seán Bán Breathnach, joined by Mánus Ó Conghaile, Sarah Lynam and Évelyn Ní Ghriallais. Race commentary comes from Mike Ó Sé, while Daragh Ó Conchúir and Meghann Scully will bring viewers all the colour and atmosphere from the parade ring, chatting with owners, trainers, jockeys and punters throughout the week.
 

With a rich mix of top-class racing, style, and festival atmosphere, Rásaí Lios Tuathail promises another unforgettable week live from Listowel on TG4.
