TG4 is proud to have received eight nominations at Gradaim RTS / The Royal Television Society Ireland Awards 2026, celebrating the excellence of our productions and partnerships.
Gradaim RTS / The RTS Ireland awards recognise the very best in broadcasting, and TG4 is delighted to see our work acknowledged among the industry’s finest. With a record number of entries this year, the nominations reflect the strength and creativity of the Irish television sector. The winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on Thursday, 16th of April at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.

In 1968, Mick Meaney was buried six foot under the London soil in a simple wooden coffin. Hundreds came to see his burial, and toast Mick on his way. The thing was, Mick was not dead. He was competing in the world record competition for ‘Longest Time Spent Buried Alive’. Incredibly, Mick was not the first. Our story begins in 1920s California and ends with a Dutch nun buried under a fairground in Skegness. This story is brought to life through the eyes of Mick’s loving daughter, Mary, who grapples with her father’s bizarre legacy.

He played with Manchester United as one of their star players for 11 years and when he left, the world wondered what was next for George Best. As it turned out, the next thing for him was a stint in Cork.
