TradFest has been running for over 10 years now and it platforms Irish traditional music in a week-long festival in the heart of our capital city annually. The newly formed television production company Aniar TV is looking forward to showcasing some of the best musicians and singers to TG4’s loyal music following with this brand-new series – Tradfest ar TG4

The series will be recorded in various venues around the capital including The Printworks in Dublin Castle and Na Píobairí Uilleann. The concerts will include performances from Téada, Frankie Gavin, Blazin’ Fiddles, Shelbey Lynne & Alison Moorer and many, many more.

“TG4 is delighted to partner with TradFest and Aniar TV to bring this new series to our screen, which showcases the riches of our tradition to TV audiences in Ireland and throughout the world. Music brings magic to TG4’s programming schedule and we continue to develop new programming ideas suitable for loyal music followers and a wider TV audience.” Proinsias Ní Ghráinne, Commissioning Editor TG4

“We are delighted to have this opportunity to bring national and international performers to TG4’s growing traditional music audience, and to showcase some of Ireland’s up and coming new talent. Aniar TV is very much looking forward to working with Temple Bar Company and TG4 to showcase the best of TradFest to the widest possible audience.” Niamh Ní Bhaoill, Creative Director Aniar TV

Temple Bar Company welcomes the opportunity for a wider audience to experience TradFest through this partnership with TG4 and Aniar TV. Now in our 13th year TradFest is Irelands largest festival of Irish and Folk music celebrating our musical heritage. 2018s festival features some of the best Irish and international established and emerging musicians. Audiences are in for a real musical treat.TradFest

The series will introduce a new presenter to our screens who is a well-known young musician herself – Doireann Ní Ghlacáin. Doireann is from Dublin and has Irish traditional music running through her blood, hailing from both the Ó Riada and Glackin families. Audiences will be treated to a fresh, inside look at the traditional music world through the eyes of Doireann as she travels around her native city.

TradFest ar TG4, produced by Aniar TV for TG4 will be broadcast later in 2018.
