TG4’s live GAA Beo coverage delivered outstanding viewership on Wednesday night, with 228,700 viewers tuning in live across five underage GAA games shown free-to-air across TG4 platforms.
The evening showcased the very best of underage Gaelic Games, with five live fixtures available across TG4, the TG4 Player, the TG4 App and Spórt TG4 YouTube. Three of the five games went to extra time, as supporters were treated to a dramatic night of hurling and football action.
The standout moment of the night came in the Munster U20 Hurling Final, where Clare defeated Limerick after a remarkable sudden-death penalty shootout. Clare goalkeeper Mark Sheedy, from the Sixmilebridge club, produced a heroic performance, saving three penalties and also converting his own strike from the spot.
Sheedy’s title-winning save has since gone viral on social media and was picked up internationally, featuring as number one on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays of the Day in the United States. The full penalty highlights are available on Spórt TG4’s YouTube channel here.
