Over Half a Million Tune In Live to the TG4 Ladies Football Finals

Galway, Roscommon and Antrim claim national titles on a dramatic and highly entertaining Finals Day

More than half a million viewers tuned in live to TG4’s coverage of the 2026 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Championship Finals from Croke Park on Sunday, 2 August.
A total of 487,800 viewers watched the action on linear television (total reach), while the three finals attracted a further 40,000 streams on TG4 Player and the TG4 App.

As official broadcaster and championship sponsor, TG4 brought viewers live, free-to-air coverage of the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Finals, with Galway, Roscommon and Antrim crowned All-Ireland champions following a dramatic and highly entertaining day of football.

Galway End 22-Year Wait for Brendan Martin Cup
The highlight of Finals Day saw Galway defeat Kerry to lift the Brendan Martin Cup for only the second time in the county’s history and for the first time since 2004.

Two of the three finals produced particularly dramatic finishes.

In the Junior Final, Antrim’s Maria O’Neill secured victory over Carlow with the final kick of the game seconds after Carlow brought the game level with a Megan Townsend goal in the 59th minute. Kerry then came agonisingly close to staging a comeback in the Senior Final, but a last-minute goal was correctly disallowed by referee Maggie Farrelly for a square-ball infringement.

Roscommon were also crowned Intermediate champions following an impressive victory over Fermanagh, completing a memorable treble of national titles for Galway, Roscommon and Antrim.
 

More Than Two Million Social Media Views
Spórt TG4’s social media coverage generated more than two million views throughout Finals Day across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X.

The most-watched piece of content was the moment Galway captain Kate Geraghty lifted the Brendan Martin Cup in the Hogan Stand, which recorded 211,697 views on Instagram alone.

Other leading clips included:
– Aisling Feely’s two goals for Roscommon, which attracted 141,443 and 92,310 views respectively.
– Lara Dahunsi’s emotional post-match interview following Antrim’s Junior Final victory, which recorded 80,475 views.
– Megan Townsend’s dramatic late goal for Carlow, which almost sent the Junior Final to a replay.

Over 26,000 Supporters Attend Finals Day

A crowd of 26,471 supporters attended the three TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Championship Finals at Croke Park.

Supporters from all six participating counties created a colourful and vibrant atmosphere throughout the day as Antrim, Roscommon and Galway were crowned Junior, Intermediate and Senior champions respectively.

The attendance reflects the continued passion for ladies football among supporters and communities across Ireland, with fans of all ages travelling to Croke Park for one of the landmark occasions in the women’s sporting calendar.
